BUCKS COUNTY, situated on the easterly boundary of Pennsylvania, on the westerly side of Delaware river. Length, 37 miles; mean breadth, 16; with an area of about 600 square miles. The face of the country is somewhat hilly and rolling, and the soil generally good and well cultivated. Seat of justice, Doylestown. Pop. in 1820, 37,642; in 1830, 45,740; in 1840, 48,107; to 1850, 56,091.
