THE CHICAGO CONVENTION. – The black Republican Convention assembled on Wednesday. Chicago was thronged with delegates and visiters [visitors]. George Ashmun, of Massachusetts, was chosen President of the Convention. The prominent candidates for the nomination for President were Seward, Bates, Lincoln, McLean, Wade, and Dayton. Seward has in all probability been nominated.
