Abraham Lincoln concluded his speaking tour of New England in Bridgeport, Connecticut with a talk to an overflow crowd at the biggest hall in the city. The following day he left New England and arrived home in Springfield on March 14, 1860 after a very successful effort to show himself in the East as a viable candidate for president.
