An exchange of wounded prisoners takes place off Fort Wagner in Charleston Harbor under a flag of truce

The exchange of wounded prisoners took place at a harbor buoy near Fort Wagner in Charleston Harbor.  The Confederate vessel Alice appeared with a flag of truce and was met by the hospital ship U.S.S. Cosmopolitan. All firing between the forts and the ship ceased for the rest of the day as both sides watched the transfer.  (By John Osborne)
