Forrest, Nathan Bedford

One of the era's more notorious and fascinating figures, Nathan Bedford Forrest was a wealthy Mississippi planter and speculator who rose from private to general in the Confederate cavalry, and later helped found the Ku Klux Klan. Forrest fought in the western theater of the war with Dickinsonians such as Flavel C. Barber.
