LINCOLN COUNTY, situated on the south boundary of North Carolina, with Catawba river on the east. Area, 1,200 quarter mile. Face of the country hilly; soil productive, especially on the streams. IREDELL COUNTY, situated toward the westerly part of North Carolina, with Catawba river on the southwest. Area, 800 square miles. Face of the country, hilly and mountainous; soil, fertile.
