Dickinson College holds annual commencement ceremonies

Dickinson College, at its annual commencement ceremonies, grants baccalaureate degrees to twenty-seven members of the class of 1850.  Among the graduates, thirteen are from Maryland, ten from Pennsylvania, two from Virginia (including Flavel Barber, who be killed outside of Atlanta in 1864), and one each from New York and New Jersey. Dickinson College, at its annual commencement ceremonies, grants baccalaureate degrees to twenty members of the class of 1849.  One of the graduates, Moncure Daniel Conway of Falmouth, Virginia, will become a vocal and active abolitionist in the coming years. (By James Gerencser)
